Terni Lapilli
Terni Lapilli is the Roman game that inspired tic tac toe — played on 3×3 grids scratched into stone all over the ancient Empire, from city pavements to the steps of the Colosseum. Soldiers played it. Children played it. Now you can too.
Unlike modern tic tac toe, each player only has three pieces and must slide them around the board rather than placing new ones. The goal is the same — get three in a row — but the sliding mechanic changes everything.
Two ways to play:
- Local multiplayer — pass and play against a friend on the same device
- You vs Computer — face an unbeatable AI that never makes a mistake
Controls: 🖱️ Mouse — click to select your piece, click again to move it 📱 Touch — tap to select, tap to move
No download. No sign-up. Just play.
